It's been about 2 and a half months since I went Bald for Bucks. It's 1 inch long now (I just measured it) and it's starting to lay down actually so it's not nearly as fluffy as it once was. I figure its a good time for an update, as well as some reminiscing about how short my hair was not long ago.
I'm a busy person. I like to keep myself occupied, and I have plenty of hobbies to do (proven by the guitar I bought myself a year ago that I haven't yet learned how to play because I haven't found the time). The only downside to being busy is when it builds up to the point where I'm late for things. Like yesterday when I woke up late (I was planning to wake up at 4 to study for my Genetics final and make some cinnamon rolls), 40 minutes before I was supposed to be at school to present a present (ha...) to my math teacher with my class. Being the last day of our senior year and all, I wasn't the happiest camper when I woke up and the clock read 6:30. Of all days to over sleep, it wasn't the one. I did manage to get to school on time, but my Genetics final...well that might have been a little rough.
The rest of my life follows suit. I usually finish schoolwork the period before it's due (sometimes two, on a good day) and the same goes for any application or other paperwork that has a deadline. Those projects you should never save for the night before? I always do. For that matter, the night before Tying Up Cancer's debut at the Quaker Arts Festival, I pretty much made the whole website with the help of some friends. I'm basically the perfect example of a procrastinator. It's not even always that I want to procrastinate, though. Just that I'm equally behind on everything, so I always have to work on what needs to be done right in that moment, no time for what needs to be done tomorrow.
I diverge. As I post the link to this video of me from almost a year ago, perhaps at least part of it can be attributed to the fact that I'm generally a bit slow at getting things done, as described above. Of course, I'm not quite a year backed up, though, so I can't blame it completely on my business. More I think I didn't post this video because I find it rather embarrassing (okay what on earth was going on with my hair then? I much prefer it now, bald) and I'm really not a fan of putting myself out there. Blogging makes me hesitate in itself, and a video's a heck of a lot more personal. Especially when people are going on about how great you are. Seriously, not my thing.
If I listened to my mom I would've posted this video on my blog the day after it was released (because of course, I should thank everyone who helped me get here). Yes, I do want you to know that I appreciate you. Whether you read my blog, buy our bracelets, or simply check out our website or Facebook page, I sincerely do appreciate your existence on this earth because it keeps me going. Every person that has ever had some interaction with Tying Up Cancer gives my life a purpose, and that's pretty important, eh? I'm not really sure why I decided to post the video now...perhaps the fact that I look completely different so you could not identify me in public and say "hey I saw that awkward video of you posted on your blog!" (okay, that would never happen anyways...but....) I hope you enjoy the video. And really, thanks always for your continued support of Tying Up Cancer!
